Bovogen Biologicals was established in 2001 and commenced manufacturing Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) on a commercial scale in 2003. With the natural transition to manufacturing other specialty protein products, Bovogen in 2009 diversified its focus towards process development, manufacturing and sterile filtration of animal serums.

In late 2016, ANZCO Foods of New Zealand acquired Bovogen Biologicals Pty Ltd, completing a vertical integration initiative for its global Healthcare business. This opportunity provided ANZCO Foods a complete alignment capability with respect to material sourcing / supply, processing, manufacture and production of animal derived serums and specialty proteins. The opportunity created for Bovogen Biologicals via this acquisition is the access to a consistent supply of high quality controlled raw materials (serum and plasma), long term supply guarantee of quality tested material (plasma and serum) and the ability to deliver real time fully traceable lines of material (plasma and serum) to customers wanting origin proof and animal traceability.
